    Data Used to Create Maps

Following is a list of links to 29 tables that provide information about the data that were used to create maps of caribou distribution and movements.

    A. Descriptions of survey data:

Each of the following tables describes data layers created from government survey data. These data layers were used for mapping caribou distribution and movements for each of 7 caribou life cycle periods.

    Table 1
For each life cycle period, the first table provides information about:

    a) the year of survey
    b) survey date
    c) mapped feature (distribution or movements)
    d) reference

    Table 2
The second table for each period provides information such as:

    a) the year of survey
    b) survey type
    c) herd component (e.g., cows and calves)
    d) caribou density

    B. Descriptions of other types of data:

The last two tables summarize data obtained using satellite radio-collars, and describe water and ice crossings used by Beverly and Qamanirjuaq caribou.
